General Election Voting 2022

You have 3 options for voting in the election this fall: in person on Nov. 8th, early voting in person (Oct. 26-Nov. 5th), and absentee ballot (can be returned without involving the USPS). If EVERY Democrat votes in WV, and the Independents mostly vote with us, we will have a louder voice than the registered Republicans in this state, but we ALL need to vote!

January 1 – October 28, 2022 – Uniformed and Overseas Citizens may apply for a General Election absentee ballot.

August 16 – November 2, 2022 – Eligible voters may apply for a General Election ballot by mail. Apply online at: https://sites.omniballot.us/54/absentee/app/home. To apply, you must qualify in one of 3 ways:

  1. Military on active duty in the Uniformed Services or Merchant Marines or an eligible spouse or dependent.
  2. Citizen Abroad – A U.S. citizen living outside the country
  3. Voter with Physical Disability that prevents one from voting in person and from voting a paper ballot without assistance.

The absentee ballot will be sent to you by USPS beginning September 23rd. Then you can submit the filled in and signed ballot in person at the Hampshire County Courthouse (clerk’s office) in Romney, or mail it back using the USPS.

October 13 – 19, 2022 – Sample ballots published in local newspapers throughout the state (publication dates will vary by county). There is one, very important, Democratic candidate:

U.S. Congress – Barry Wendell

For a link to more information about Barry Wendell, see the post: Barry Wendell will face Alex Mooney this fall!

Additionally, there are four constitutional amendments on the ballot that would give the legislature authority over the rules and policies of the State Board of Education, lock out the courts from impeachment proceedings, hand control of county taxes on personal property to the state legislature, and allow religious organizations to incorporate. Follow the above link for more information.
